The Membertou IT Department was established in May 2006 to provide IT services to Membertou’s various departments and divisions. The IT department supplies desktop support to approximately 150 users, builds and services all internal computer systems, maintains network infrastructure and plans future IT developments. Network connectivity is delivered through a redundant firewall protected network and Membertou hosts and maintains 10 servers for business operations. All servers are located in the Membertou Data Centre with redundant power supply, air conditioning and fiber connectivity.

The IT Department has also implemented a Cisco VOIP communications system that is now in use throughout all of Membertou business and administration
services.
